Sustainability, Health and Innovation
A little helpful info about cork...
Sustainability- Cork has little negative environmental impact. Harvesting is sustainable. A tree must be 25 years old to harvest and can be harvested every 14 years. The typical lifespan of a cork tree is 150-200. The manufacturing process produces almost no waste and cork flooring is actually the by product of the corkstoppers of wine bottles. At the end of its life, cork is biodegradable. Sustain is DECLARE Red List Free and meets CA 01350 IAQ standards and these are the 2 most stringent global environmental standards. https://living-future.org/declare/declare-about/red-list/
Health- Cork is naturally resistant to mold, mildew and is an antimicrobial. It does not offgas and is fire resistant. Cork is comfortable underfoot and gives when compressed. Also, its warm and quiet. Also, the acoustics are good and adding cork into rubber gives Zandur's rubber the best acoustics in class.
Innovation- Sustain Cork Rubber is one of the most innovative flooring products on the market. Bringing the properties of cork into rubber flooring reduces glare, creates ease of installation and maintenance and greatly enhances the acoustics of a rubber floor.
Zandur has an industry leading take back program. The product is Declare. Red List Free and 100% recyclable back into itself. Products can be melted and refinished. EPD’s available and all required documentation for LEED v4, WELL, BREEAM is completed. Please contact us for more information.
